The story behind the dream
In November 2024, Tom's Confectionery Warehouse was privileged to meet Gabe, a brave 16-year-old fighting his third battle with T-cell cancer. Diagnosed in December 2017, Gabe endured three years of harsh chemotherapy with remarkable strength. After a period of hope, the cancer sadly returned in his spine in October 2024.
His family’s vigilance led to further testing and the heartbreaking confirmation of the relapse. Seeking the best care possible, Gabe and his family traveled to the Philippines to receive treatment from leading medical specialists. Initially, Gabe’s condition improved, with blood tests moving from weekly to monthly. But just 6 to 8 weeks ago, his symptoms returned aggressively, leaving him unable to walk.

At Tom's Confectionery Warehouse, we believe in supporting more than just your sweet tooth. This belief inspired us to create Dreams by Dr Sugar, a non-profit initiative dedicated to helping people facing serious challenges like Gabe’s. Through this program, we aim to offer compassion, encouragement, and practical support to those battling severe illnesses and difficulties.
